I think I have had just enough of the constant attack from the world about what it is I need to care about. This constant barrage of how I need to care about every freaking thing and person other then myself has hit my limit. Even worse is the attack one gets if they choose not to jump on every bandwagon that rolls by. Save the whales, save the trees, save the starving little children in third world countries.
The plight, that is anyone, (but you) and how they have had such tougher existence then yours, no matter what your personal tribulations in life may have been. Yes, you better care about it all or you are a heartless bastard who should be dragged out in the street, beaten to death and your belongings redistributed to who ever has the most pathetic expression on their face at the moment. I officially coin the phrase “sympathetic socialism”, the act of being guilted out of everything you own!
Frankly I just don’t care anymore. Why should I? My life hasn’t exactly been easy. Where is my multimillion-dollar charity group, hell bent to throw me a benefit concert where Willy Nelson gathers everyone to sing Kumbaya, sit in a pot hazed drum circle, and save the world by bailing me out? Now some of you at this point may think I am just a cold-hearted dirtbag. You would be the exact people I am referring to who need to get a life and stop worrying, about what others are worrying about. We have the right to care or not care about what we choose, like and dislike what we want. It is time we take back the right to indifference. The right, to just not give a crap. But most importantly, the right to not feel pressured into feeling guilty because we choose to consider our emotional plates already full with causes that really mean something to us!
Freedom of thought, the one right they can never take from you.
